HUSTLE HARDER XXL was created by David and Kagi Media and captures David at the pinnacle of his career throughout 2006 while he was creating music for diverse genres and markets, selling beats to major artists, landing new deals on a daily basis, developing various brands and flying around the world as a headlining D.J.
From Ghettotech to the Major Leagues and in the face of barbed life circumstance David remained driven to engender the underground; often thumbing his nose at the status quo and making his own rules as he went. For this, he gained respect and sparked jealousy in the industry as he challenged stock hip-hop with next generation beats which he described as “me having sex with my machines”.
Having just attained a career goal of placing a true crossover beat on a Dirty South track with Trick Daddy, simultaneously funneling his hard fought cash into several hot Brazilian hip-hop artists (developing a new multi-lingual brand of their music), David was well into launching many initiatives that were revolutionary, cementing his status as a musical visionary, born to change the game and with no end in sight. Tragically, the end came in late January 2007 when David died by his own hand and we all lost a poetic soul.
David was with us all the way through the production and now his legacy will live on in HUSTLE HARDER XXL...

HUSTLE HARDER XXL DVD Menus:
The documentary consists of 2 main sections; the first being HUSTLE HARDER where we cut footage of Disco doing his deeds in a non-linear montage which loosely follows the complex thought processes of his brilliant business mind in the hectic day to day music biz lifestyle he lived.
It also touches on the personal challenges he was facing as he continued to overdrive his career into the stratosphere; featuring a full run of dealings, intensity and good times in Sao Paulo, Rio, Barcelona and the USA.
The second section, XXL Studio Edition, makes up the majority of runtime minutes and it is where producers will find the meat of the instructional footage. We cannot state it better than Disco D himself did when he said, “I will dictate on camera everything I do, EVERYTHING!!!!” Also, look for a full section on Acoustic Treatments, Lots of Gear talk and all with ongoing Disco D attitude as he slams out everything from underground Brazilian hip-hop tunes with his supergroup Braza to the mixing and political considerations of one of his final mind melting beats, "I Pop" a Trick Daddy banger- hailed as an avant-garde collaboration.
And to make it a truly interactive experience, producers can access the ROM Content where we provide Disco D DAW sessions organized incrementally in sequence with the way Disco D created them, on camera, during the movie.
Additionally, we provide AKAI Song Files created by Disco using Samples that he bounced from his own beats; including Disco Hits, Synths, Drums, Guitar and Bass. These never before released Samples can be used with any MPC or with any other sampler or DAW for instant flavor that will give your productions the Gringo Louco edge.

HUSTLE HARDER XXL teaches beatmaking and hiphop music production. Beat Making and Hip-Hop music production, like anything in music, are obscure terms. While one person might use an AKAI MPC 1000, mpc2500, mpc2000, mpc2000xl or mpc 4000, another might use E-MU, Roland S760, AKAI sampler, Yamaha A4000, Ensoniq or even a Synclavier! They might record in Nuendo, Cubase, Logic Pro, Digital Performer, Sonar, Pro Tools or GarageBand! They might trigger sounds and samples using an MPC, Roland V-Drum, Yamaha DTX Electronic Drum Kit or Korg Triton or Kurzweil Workstation keyboard or even a low-end M-Audio Oxygen 8 USB MIDI Controller triggering an EXS24, HALion, MachFive, Emulator X2, Sample Tank, Xpand, Propellerhead Reason or Gigastudio. In the end, it doesn’t matter which tools you use for audio production. It’s all personal preference. Choose you tools and master them.
As well, putting a label on you music can limit your audience and reach in the “music business”. Booty Shakin’ music is universal because it centers on rhythm. Since a lot of it is currently produced with electronic tools, Electronic Music seems to be the broadest definition. But weather you want to label your music Techno, Dance, R&B, House, Rap, Industrial, Funk, Soul, Trance, Ethnic or Pop or make up a new genre and start a musical revolution. It’s all about bringing passion to the table.
In HUSTLE HARDER XXL Disco D starts out sampling in the DAW, uses the mpc1000 and mpc4000 as sequencers then tracks the sequences back into the DAW where he treats the tracks as a new song and goes about arranging and mixing from top to bottom; adding DSP and plugins, scratching, recording vox & ending up with finished music that truly slams! Similar results could be achieved using the tools you currently own. Watch the DVD and use the soundfiles on the DVD ROM and you’ll be inspired in a new way.
