Disco D really makes it seem possible for the viewer to follow in his footsteps with ease. The whole time his love of life is prevalent and infectious as he travels around the world doing his DJ’ing, beat making, MPC1000 freaking in front of huge crowds and conducts deals by phone. You begin to feel like you're one of his close associates that he’s showing how to get up, get out and get something.
I really felt more empowered after watching this. Really priceless stuff here for the producer on the come up.
All in all I recommend this DVD to anyone wanting to learn how to hustle their music better, from mixing and working their gear, to moving it in the streets; and of course to anyone who just loved Disco D.
I feel like I knew the guy after having watched Hustle Harder XXL and the industry can only continue to be touched by him from those of us who can take the knowledge he has given and put it to work for ourselves and the music we create.

The Late Disco D Hustles in a New DVD
The late Disco D (born David Shayman) was by all means one of the most hard-working producers to ever touch an MPC or mixing console. Working with everyone from 50 Cent to Lil’ Scrappy to Princess Superstar, D possessed dynamic beatmaking skills and endless creativity that made him a hot commodity in the industry.
The recently released Hustle Harder XXL DVD (Kagi Media) showcases Shayman at his most intimate and professional. Focused, incessantly joking, and often stoned, he pulls beats together, takes meetings with label heads (and gives them tons of shit), strikes deals, and gives studio tips during the course of the DVD, making Hustle Harder XXL is one of the few films to expose the genius at work without losing that which retains the interest of both serious producers and casual fans.

Hustle Harder XXL emerges triumphantly. A fascinating look into the life of Disco D just months before his passing, the DVD follows him through his hectic business life and creative journey.
The New York-based DJ and producer was a bustling artist and business man, making moves with artists of Grammy-nominated acclaim and multi-platinum sound scans. A true work-aholic, the man known by friends and family as David Shayman was on the grind 24-7, 365, making connections at every opportunity.
Self narrated by Shayman, the DVD is extremely informative from two separate standpoints - the running documentary, and a tutorial for aspiring producers and DJ's. It follows him from his home studio, where he concocts hits for 50 Cent and churns out ring tone jingles, to recording time in Brazil (dude was bilingual, too), to his headlining electronic festival in Europe.
And during the time in-between, your boy is constantly on the cell, making moves aplenty. We're shown how much of a walking business he really was (no Jay-Z), but even more impressive is his astounding technical knowledge of music (he spins, produces, mixes, masters, tracks vocals, etc), and the industry.

I learned more from this dvd than any other turtorial vid I have. Disco D... is the definition of multitasking at its best. I watched this dvd 10 times already and I keep going back and rewatch sections of it. Since watching this dvd I approached a few people about doing background music and ringtones for them. "Hustle Harder" is the new slogan to live by. Thanks!
